About the position

Kalamazoo Valley Community College is seeking part-time Auto Tech Instructors to share their automotive expertise with college students in various classes and times based on experience and interest. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in automotive technology who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in an automotive lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach automotive technology courses in the lab setting.
• Prepare course materials and assessments for students.
• Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
• Maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
• Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and practices.

Requirements

• Valid ASE Certification in maintenance and light repair, and electrical (must be obtained upon hire).
• At least 5 years of qualified work experience in the automotive field.

Nice-to-haves

• A degree in automotive technology is preferred.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.

Benefits

• Competitive pay rate of $2,976 minimum per course, with potential for higher rates based on experience.
