About the position

The Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for providing AV support for all programs, events, and meetings in addition to assisting with all elements of classroom set up. The AV tech is also responsible for determining equipment needs and training end users on how to operate AV equipment properly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Set up classroom and AV equipment for all programs, events, and meetings.
  • Set-up and engineer live concerts.
  • Set-up and support livestream programs.
  • Provide AV system training to faculty and assistants.
  • Anticipate the needs of faculty and guests and provide excellent customer service.
  • Understand and follow AV procedures and workflows, completing tasks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Effectively troubleshoot A/V issues.
  • Complete equipment inspection, repair and preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory management and upkeep of AV shop.
  • Provide coverage or perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or formal education in a related trade school.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skill; Positive attitude.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience running and maintaining audio visual equipment, including concert set-up, recording, and multi-media set-up.
  • Knowledge of live audio reinforcement, audio and video recording, and post-production.
  • Knowledge of Apple and Microsoft DAW Applications.
  • Working knowledge of Mac & PC OS computers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
  • Must have a driver's license, pass a background check and physical exam.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends is essential.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or work on feet for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with livestreamed events and web-based meeting platforms.
  • Knowledge of Livestreaming Software Programs such as OBS, WireCast, Vmix, etc.
