About the position

The Part-Time Bookkeeper/Accountant & Payroll Specialist at Marino Advisory Group is responsible for managing QuickBooks accounts for multiple clients, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and payroll processing. This role involves working closely with the Senior Staff Accountant to maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, and support various accounting functions while striving for excellence and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain QuickBooks accounts for multiple clients with the goal of managing accounts independently.
  • Complete General Ledger Maintenance for both Balance Sheet and P&L with the goal of managing accounts independently.
  • Reconcile Banking and Credit Card Accounts.
  • Reconcile Other Balance Sheet and P&L Accounts.
  • Post bank feeds and Bank/Credit Card transactions to appropriate GL accounts.
  • Post payments and vendor invoices.
  • Post payroll and other month-end adjusting entries.
  • Process and run payrolls within various vendor systems.
  • Respond to emails and answer phone calls timely.

Requirements

  • Willingness to become QuickBooks Certified.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business related preferred.
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Balance Sheet, P&L, and General Ledger.
  • Experience with A/P, A/R, and general accounting maintenance.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Strong research skills to solve discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of internal auditing of G/L accounts is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and growth-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of bookkeeping experience preferred.
