About the position

This exciting part-time opportunity is an excellent chance to be a part of one of Sacramento's leading non-profit organizations. Our client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper with non-profit experience to join their team for a potential permanent position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience and will be familiar with a variety of accounting duties that are essential for the smooth operation of the organization. The role involves processing accounts payable and receivables, preparing deposits of cash receipts, donations, and miscellaneous program revenues, and producing, collecting, and reconciling Affiliate dues on a monthly basis. Additionally, the bookkeeper will be responsible for tracking public donations, sponsorships, and grants, as well as entering staff credit card transactions. The position also requires preparing monthly journal entries and reconciling them to subsidiary ledgers, assisting in the preparation of the month-end closing, and tracking and processing 1099s and other required tax forms. The bookkeeper will assist in the preparation of quarterly Lobby Reports and the year-end audit, while also maintaining historical records by filing documents. This role will serve as a backup to the Director of Finance and Human Resources, ensuring that all financial operations are conducted efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities

  • Processing accounts payable and receivables.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
