About the position

Studyville is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable part-time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations. This role involves managing financial transactions, invoicing, accounts payable, payroll processing, and assisting in budgeting. The position offers flexibility with the majority of work being done remotely, while also requiring occasional in-person meetings with management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements.
  • Ensure financial data is accurately entered and managed within the company's accounting software.
  • Generate and send out invoices to clients in a timely manner.
  • Track payments and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable.
  • Manage accounts payable by processing invoices and ensuring timely payments.
  • Monitor and record company expenses.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all bills and payments.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial plans.
  • Monitor budget compliance and report on any variances.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support budgeting decisions.
  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and manage any related inquiries.
  • Calculate and process employee deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  • Collect expense reports from employees and manage expenditures.
  • Process approved mileage reimbursements for employees.
  • Report sales and property taxes.
  • Manage insurance payments and ensure compliance.
  • Handle location occupancy licenses.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks Online).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.
