About the position

The Part-Time Brand Ambassador at Melissa & Doug plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experiences and driving sales in retail locations. This position involves engaging with customers, maintaining store standards, and representing the brand's mission of inspiring imaginative play in children. The Brand Ambassador will work closely with the management team to ensure a welcoming and visually appealing shopping environment while also being responsible for product knowledge and customer relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Provide the ultimate customer service experience through warm greetings and engaging conversations.
• Assist the management team with merchandising the store as new products arrive weekly.
• Maintain the store according to company visual standards to create an engaging environment for customers.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge of product features and benefits to maximize sales opportunities.
• Develop client relationships beyond initial transactions through follow-up contact via phone, email, and written communication.
• Ensure all functions of the store are maintained to support superior shopping experiences.
• Operate the POS register and email systems effectively.

Requirements

• Sales-driven and goal-oriented individual with a personable demeanor.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move objects weighing up to 15 pounds and use ladders or stairs.
• Positive, high-energy, friendly, outgoing, and engaging personality.
• 1+ years of prior experience in retail sales.
• Experience working with children in a learning capacity/environment preferred.
• Experience with Shopify Plus platform is preferred.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
