About the position

The Part-time Career Services Assistant at Calhoun Community College provides essential administrative support to the Career Services office. This role involves assisting students, alumni, and faculty with various requests while ensuring excellent customer service. The assistant will also help manage the career services calendar and maintain knowledge of college policies and employment trends.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students, alumni, community members, and faculty with various requests.
  • Provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence.
  • Assist career services staff with data collection and processing.
  • Represent the career services department at various events.
  • Monitor and manage the career services calendar and requests for services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of college policies and procedures as well as employment and career trends.
  • Perform clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years work experience in a relevant setting required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and word processing software.
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems.
  • Ability to operate fax machines, copiers, scanners, and label makers.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to prescribed routines.
  • Ability to utilize Excel or other database software for data management.
  • Ability to utilize Word or other word processing tools for communication.
  • Ability to make decisions based on data and correspondence.
  • Ability to search the internet for information.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with diverse individuals.

Nice-to-haves
