About the position

As a Part-Time Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at Trondent Development Corp., you will utilize your expertise in accounting and financial principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing various financial tasks, including accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and financial reporting, while contributing to the overall financial management and decision-making processes of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Issue invoices and manage cash receipts for accounts receivable.
  • Follow up on past-due balances and ensure timely collections.
  • Process and enter invoices for payment in accounts payable.
  • Prepare bills for payment via online systems or other methods.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (cash, investments, loans, etc.) monthly.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages to present to the business owner.
  • Manage and process payroll runs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collect W9s and issue 1099s to contractors at year-end.
  • Ensure W2s are prepared and sent to employees annually.
  • Assist in preparing financial data for external advisors, including tax advisors and bankers.
  • Process semi-monthly 401k contributions via John Hancock's online system.
  • Manage adjustments for employee deferrals and employer matches.
  • Post all retirement contributions in QuickBooks and prepare the annual report census for the appointed TPA.
  • Manage employee enrollment, changes, or terminations for health, dental, disability/life insurance.
  • Prepare and submit annual workers' compensation audit reports in line with insurance requirements.
  • Complete applications and questionnaires to renew corporate insurance policies annually.
  • Develop the annual budget, including actual vs. budget reports and projections for revenue and expenses.
  • Prepare unaudited financial reports for tax accountants and respond to inquiries as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid CPA license required.
  • 5 years of experience as a CPA.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial concepts.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and QuickBooks.
  • Proficient in financial report writing and tax experience.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and communicate clearly.
