About the position

As a Part-Time Community Banking Associate at Journey Bank, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial needs of our local community. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing excellent customer service and contributing to the financial well-being of our customers. You will be working on-site at our Elysburg Branch, where you will engage with customers and assist them with various banking transactions. Your daily responsibilities will include greeting customers, processing deposits, cashing checks, and handling utility bill payments. You will also be responsible for selling treasurer checks and money orders, accepting loan payments, and managing safe deposit box rentals. In addition to these core functions, you will maintain awareness of new business opportunities and actively refer customers to appropriate personnel for additional services. Your role will require you to adhere to all internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). Responsibilities

  • Greet and serve customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Accept deposits, cash checks, and accept utility bill payments.
  • Sell treasurer checks, money orders, etc.
  • Accept loan payments, safe deposit box rent, and other related payments.
  • Process night deposits and mail deposits.
  • Maintain awareness of new business opportunities with customers and actively refer them to appropriate customer service personnel.
  • Cooperate with, participate in, and support adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; specialized banking education or training.
  • Previous cash handling, banking experience, and customer service experience preferred.
  • Moderate reading, writing, and grammar skills, analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficient communicative and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to operate various office machines.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.
