About the position

The Part-Time Coordinator II for the Academy for Lifelong Learning at Lone Star College is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive leisure learning program for non-credit students aged 50 and above. This role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of courses, ensuring program success through collaboration with volunteers and advisory council members, and managing various operational aspects of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of the leisure learning program.
  • Maintain records and current knowledge of the program area.
  • Assist with management of the department budget and purchasing processes.
  • Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate meetings, seminars, and events.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
  • Attend committee meetings and help resolve complex issues.
  • Prepare and communicate staff schedules and responsibilities.
  • Advise students regarding classes and program improvements.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Basic knowledge of general office and software applications.
  • Ability to prepare reports and maintain organizational skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and high level of customer service.
