About the position

The Part-Time Coordinator II, Outreach-Title V Grant at Lone Star College (LSC) is responsible for facilitating daily operations within the assigned area, ensuring that all support functions are coordinated effectively. This role involves a variety of tasks including scheduling, communication, workflow management, and staff support. The Coordinator will make process decisions based on best practices and maintain a current knowledge base of the assigned area, acting as a point of contact for both internal and external customers. The position requires the ability to prioritize work and activities, organize training materials for staff, and create and submit various reports related to the assigned area, presenting findings as necessary. In addition to daily operations, the Coordinator will coordinate department and leadership calendars, plan and schedule meetings, seminars, and events, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role also involves monitoring resources such as office supplies and equipment, submitting requisitions, and reviewing purchase requests in accordance with the budget. The Coordinator will assist in creating evaluation methods for the assigned area, analyze results, and make recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies. The main focus of this position is to enhance the student experience across various areas including learning centers, labs, student activities, advising, and outreach. The work environment is primarily sedentary, performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards. The Coordinator will interface with both internal and external contacts to carry out the functions of the position, utilizing general office equipment and software applications to support their work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of assigned area.
  • Maintain records and a current knowledge base of assigned area.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external customers.
  • Schedule and prioritize work and activities, organizing training materials for staff.
  • Create and submit a variety of reports related to assigned area and present findings.
  • Coordinate department and leadership calendars and schedules.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation.
  • Ensure and maintain compliance with local/state/federal regulations within assigned area.
  • Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the department.
  • Submit requisitions and review/approve/deny purchase requests in accordance with the budget.
  • Assist with creating methods of evaluation for assigned area and analyze results to make recommendations for revisions.
  • Take part in and/or lead special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • High level of customer service.
