About the position

The Part-Time Coordinator III, Online Compliance at Lone Star College (LSC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the compliance of distance education operations. This position is responsible for conducting thorough research on rules and regulations related to distance education, as well as supporting the preparation and submission of necessary applications, forms, and reports required by various states, counties, and licensure boards. The Coordinator will ensure that all operations align with local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining a high standard of compliance throughout the organization. In this role, the Coordinator will oversee daily operations and some long-term projects within their assigned area, acting as a Subject Matter Expert and a point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. They will develop and maintain various spreadsheets, databases, and reports, presenting findings to relevant parties, including LSCS Managers and community members. The Coordinator will also be responsible for tracking and maintaining a variety of data, ensuring that all documentation meets compliance standards. Additionally, the Coordinator will schedule and prioritize work activities, create evaluation methods for their area, and analyze results to recommend improvements. They will manage department calendars, coordinate meetings and events, and oversee resource management, including office supplies and budgetary considerations. The role may also involve leading special projects as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement of the department's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily and long-term operations of assigned area.
  • Conduct research on rules and regulations related to distance education.
  • Support the preparation and submission of applications, forms, and reports for compliance.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert and point of contact for internal and external constituents.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Schedule and prioritize work activities and develop compliance-related spreadsheets.
  • Create evaluation methods and analyze results for program improvement.
  • Coordinate and manage department calendars and schedules.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, seminars, and events.
  • Monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment.
  • Manage or assist with the management of the department budget.
  • Participate in or lead special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working in higher education or legal environment.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties.
  • High level of customer service.
  • Ability to learn state, federal, international, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and distance education.
