About the position

The Student Affairs Evening/Weekend Coordinator is a part-time role at Davidson-Davie Community College, focusing on supporting various Student Affairs departments by coordinating essential services and managing technology. This position requires providing assistance during evenings and weekends, ensuring that students have access to necessary resources and support. The role involves a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend hours, typically spanning 10 to 12 months based on budget and need.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer student support services for prospective and current students, including admissions, FAFSA assistance, course registration, graduation processing, and evening orientation sessions.
  • Oversee and manage all Student Affairs technologies to maximize functionality, liaising with vendors and providing training for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Serve as primary backup to various Student Affairs offices, performing front-desk reception duties and managing walk-in inquiries.
  • Provide support for the Contact Center during evenings and weekends, ensuring students have access to information and assistance when primary offices are closed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for emergencies during evening hours, assisting with student conduct and updating Maxient Database entries.
  • Develop, oversee, and ensure consistency in all communications to students from Student Affairs, including event updates and policy reminders.
  • Offer virtual and in-person support through the Storm Help Desk, addressing student inquiries and connecting them with appropriate resources or advisors.
  • Regularly review and update Student Affairs departmental webpages for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Provide direct support to the Graduation Committee and the Equity Steering Committee, assisting with event coordination and committee communications.
  • Support Student Life by coordinating and overseeing evening and weekend events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Two or more years working in a department within student affairs/services or a similar department.
