About the position

The Customer Service Rental Agent at U-Haul is responsible for providing exceptional service to customers, assisting them with their moving needs, and ensuring a positive rental experience. This part-time role involves interacting with customers, educating them about products and services, and managing rental transactions. The position requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with U-Haul customers to identify their needs and recommend appropriate moving supplies or storage solutions.
  • Assist customers inside the U-Haul Dealership by educating them on products and services, answering questions, and preparing rental invoices.
  • Ensure vehicle fluid levels are properly filled and perform clean-up of trucks, trailers, and other rental items.
  • Accept equipment returned from rental and manage rentals and inventory using smartphone-based U-Scan technology.
  • Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers, and operate tractors as needed.
  • Wash, clean, and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly, fast, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • Complete training and maintain knowledge through online and hands-on educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Reservation experience is a plus.
  • Must be willing to work most weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
