About the position

The Customer Assistance Representative Sr (CAR Sr) role is focused on delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients at the San Jose Airport location. This part-time position involves face-to-face interactions with customers, assisting with their rental needs, and providing administrative support. The CAR Sr will also engage in hands-on training to enhance their service capabilities and act as a rental back-up when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Take incoming calls for reservations, rate quotes, and general inquiries, providing information and resolutions for customers and vendors.
• Manage outgoing calls for callback management and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
• Provide high-level customer service by assisting customers with their rental needs in person and over the phone.
• Meet and greet customers in a friendly and timely manner.
• Provide directions and general assistance to customers.
• Assess the condition of rental vehicles upon return.
• Process returns, check-ins, and exit kiosk transactions.
• Market the company while safely picking up and dropping off customers, assisting them as needed.
• Communicate rental terms, vehicle features, and additional services to customers.
• Sell optional protection products, upgrades, and other additional equipment as needed.
• Notify management of any known vehicle problems and required maintenance.
• Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors as needed.
• Perform various administrative and basic accounting functions, including research and billing support tasks, accounts receivables, and running reports.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• At least 6 months of prior customer service, retail, or administrative support experience required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring work authorization sponsorship.

Benefits

• Hourly wage of $21.15 per hour.
