About the position

The Elkhart County Health Department is seeking a Part Time Dental Hygienist to provide preventative dental services to children aged 12 months to 16 years in a public health setting. The role includes conducting exams, performing dental prophylaxis, administering fluoride treatments, applying sealants, and providing oral hygiene instruction. The position is to be filled as soon as possible and will require working 2-3 days a week at the Elkhart Clinic Site.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative dental services to children aged 12 months to 16 years.
• Conduct dental exams and assessments.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and fluoride treatments.
• Apply sealants as needed.
• Provide oral hygiene instruction to children and their guardians.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist with a current license in Indiana.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are critically important.
• Must be well organized and a self-starter.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
• Pre-employment background check and TB test are mandatory.
