About the position

The University of Georgia is seeking a part-time Digital Asset Management Systems Support professional to join the MarComm-VP Office. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective management and organization of digital assets within the university's Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. The successful candidate will be responsible for entering, reviewing, and correcting metadata for both new and existing assets, ensuring consistency and accuracy that enhances the user search experience. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of the digital asset library and ensuring that all assets are easily findable by end users. In addition to metadata management, the candidate will assist the DAM team in evaluating and creating documentation for user training and system governance. This includes supporting workflows in the project management system, managing user training schedules, and handling asset and license requests. The role also involves assisting with the asset ingestion process, which includes adhering to file naming and organization standards, uploading original and versioned assets, and ensuring that assets progress through administrative review procedures. The position requires research into asset requests within the DAM system and film archives, as well as migrating content from external sources into the DAM. This migration process includes evaluating, organizing, digitizing, tagging, and adding metadata to assets. Finally, the candidate will assist the DAM team in maintaining both current and archival photo and video assets, which includes filing film, likeness releases, and other related assets. Responsibilities

  • Enter, review and correct metadata for new and existing assets in Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to ensure consistency and accurate metadata that adds value and findability for the end user search experience.
  • Assist DAM team with the evaluation and creation of documentation used for user training and system governance.
  • Assist DAM team with workflows in project management system, including training schedules, user management, and asset and license requests.
  • Assist DAM team with asset ingestion process, including: file naming and organization standards; default metadata; uploading original and versioned assets into the DAM; progress assets through administrative review procedures.
  • Research asset requests in DAM system and film archives.

Requirements

  • Experience with digital asset management systems or similar database management systems.
