About the position
The Dishwasher position at Oaks Senior Living is a part-time role focused on maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas. The Dishwasher will be responsible for washing dishes, kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with health regulations while supporting the dietary program. This role is essential for providing a clean and safe environment for both staff and residents.
Responsibilities
- Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.
- Stores clean utensils, dishes, and glassware in proper places.
- Keeps dish washing machine and dish room in clean operating condition.
- Reports any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to the Food Service Director.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen area and waitstaff station and cleans filter over stove area.
- Delivers ice to the dining room.
- Assists waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes to the kitchen when necessary.
- Delivers meals to residents in their apartments when necessary.
- Performs assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilizes the proper cleaning chemicals.
- Keeps work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Ensures that dishes are readily available for the next meal.
- Stores dishes in the proper location to prevent contamination.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Desire to work with older adults.
- Friendly, caring disposition.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician.
- Must have a negative drug screen.
- Must be able to react in an emergency situation.
- Knowledge of state food handling and kitchen regulations.
- Familiarity with OSHA Standards and Fire and Safety Procedures.
Nice-to-haves
- CPR & First Aid certification.
