About the position
The Part-time Donor Specialist at Goodwill of North Georgia is responsible for examining and grading donated goods for resale in retail stores. This role involves processing donations efficiently while maintaining a positive and professional attitude towards guests. The position supports the organization's mission of helping local job seekers find meaningful work by ensuring that donations are handled properly and that the donation center operates smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Display a professional, patient, and 'people first' attitude with guests.
- Provide a donation receipt to each guest at the time of donating.
- Handle guest questions and resolve problems according to standard operating procedures.
- Sort donations into designated categories.
- Communicate effectively with management when necessary.
- Perform work tasks according to training playbooks and work instructions.
- Evaluate and navigate decisions effectively.
- Promote and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork with peers.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized donation center location.
- Adhere to safety and security practices, reporting hazards and injuries to management.
- Assist truck drivers with loading/unloading donations.
- Attend and complete all required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year or more of production experience preferred.
- Basic math and reading skills required.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal skills necessary for guest interaction.
- Must be 18 years or older to operate a forklift.
