About the position

The Equipment Engineering Associate position at MilliporeSigma is a part-time, temporary role designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the semiconductor manufacturing field. The role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment, providing an opportunity to support the engineering team and contribute to the production of cutting-edge semiconductor devices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating current inventory and helping with the dispositioning of parts.
  • Decommissioning of unused process chambers.
  • Acting as Safety Buddy to EQE team members.
  • Assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of semiconductor fabrication equipment.
  • Supporting equipment engineers in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions.
  • Participating in routine inspections and preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Documenting maintenance activities and maintaining accurate records of equipment performance.
  • Learning and applying safety protocols and best practices in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Engaging in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant technical program (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field).
  • Strong interest in semiconductor manufacturing and equipment engineering.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Use of small hand tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Preventative maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
