About the position
The Part-Time Addictions Counselor position at Friends of Bridge, Inc. is designed for a qualified professional to provide support and counseling to individuals dealing with addiction and mental health issues. The role involves conducting group sessions, individual counseling, and maintaining necessary documentation while adhering to OASAS regulations. This position is part-time, specifically scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct relapse prevention group sessions for adult clients.
- Facilitate individual, brief, and crisis counseling sessions.
- Maintain a caseload and complete all required agency paperwork.
- Report to probation, courts, parole, and EAP as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with OASAS requirements and regulations.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Mental Health, Social Work, or Addiction Counseling (LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, CASAC, etc.) preferred.
- Working knowledge of addiction and alcoholism.
- Experience in supervising counseling sessions.
Nice-to-haves
- Valid Substance Abuse Counseling Certification license.
