About the position

Palomar College is seeking a part-time faculty member for the Interior Design program within the Design and Manufacturing Technologies Department. This position is non-tenured track and is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in the field of interior design. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing course materials, and assessing student performance. The role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that supports the success of all students. The part-time faculty member will engage with students in a collaborative and interactive manner, encouraging creativity and critical thinking in design projects. Responsibilities will include preparing and delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and providing feedback on student work. The faculty member will also be expected to stay current with industry trends and advancements in interior design, integrating relevant content into the curriculum. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development and improvement. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree or higher with two years of professional experience, or an associate degree with six years of professional experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
  • Coursework and degrees must be from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Professional experience is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 10 months.
