About the position

Kennesaw State University is seeking part-time faculty members for the Department of Engineering Technology, specifically in the Manufacturing and Machining areas. These positions are designed for teaching undergraduate courses on a semester-by-semester basis, with rank determined by experience. The faculty will contribute to a nationally recognized program and support student success in a collaborative academic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in the mechanical engineering technology program, such as CNC, Machining, and Programming.
  • Assigning teaching responsibilities based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of exceptional professional experience related to the courses being taught.

Nice-to-haves

  • An earned bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in engineering or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of general machining operations including turning, milling, shaping, sawing, and grinding.
  • Knowledge of ASME-based best practices for engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of GD&T interpretation and Y14.5-2018.
  • Knowledge of tolerances and tolerance/process relationships.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better.
  • SolidWorks advanced certification in Weldments, Sheet Metal, Drawings, Customization, and Surfacing preferred.
  • Expertise in Top-down and Bottom-up design techniques.
  • Expertise in mechanics and/or welding is a plus.
  • Industry experience.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Experience in college-level teaching and online teaching.
