About the position

Kennesaw State University is seeking part-time faculty for the Department of Engineering Technology, specifically in the area of Welding. These positions are available for the academic year 2024-2025 and will be filled on a semester-by-semester basis. The faculty will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering technology, focusing on welding and fabrication. The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in the mechanical engineering technology program, specifically in welding and fabrication.
  • Developing course materials and assessments in accordance with SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of exceptional professional experience related to the courses being taught.
  • An earned bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in engineering or a closely related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of AWS welding symbology and its application.
  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive welding tests.
  • Ability to teach hands-on basic SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW exercises.
  • Knowledge of general fabrication processes including forming, shearing, punching, and fixturing.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better.
  • Expertise in mechanics, machining, and/or manufacturing.
  • Industry experience and a Professional Engineering license.
  • Experience in college-level teaching and online teaching.
