About the position
The Sales Outfitter - Firearms is a part-time position at Cabela's located in Owatonna, Minnesota. This role is primarily responsible for maintaining counter sales and providing exceptional customer service for firearms, as well as assisting with the sales of other hunting merchandise. The Sales Outfitter will engage with customers in a friendly and prompt manner, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and assistance to help customers make informed buying decisions. In this position, the Sales Outfitter will support a strong commitment to world-class customer service, striving to provide a legendary experience for every customer. Key responsibilities include identifying and evaluating customer needs, making product recommendations, and promoting various programs such as CLUB membership and in-store pickup. The Sales Outfitter is also responsible for ensuring that all 4473 forms are completed accurately and thoroughly, demonstrating product knowledge to customers, and maintaining the organization of merchandise within the retail store, particularly at the gun counter. Additional duties include replenishing products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines, staying informed about advertised sales, and assisting with seasonal merchandise moves. The Sales Outfitter must keep their work area clean and well-stocked with supplies while adhering to all company policies and procedures. This role may also involve other duties as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain counter sales and customer service for firearms and hunting merchandise.
- Greet and acknowledge all customers in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Handle merchandise with care and provide information and assistance to customers.
- Identify and evaluate customers' needs to make product recommendations.
- Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
- Ensure 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
- Demonstrate product knowledge to customers.
- Organize and maintain merchandise within the retail store for sales at the gun counter.
- Replenish product on shelves as required per merchandising guidelines.
- Remain knowledgeable of advertised sales and maintain pricing and signing.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep work area clean, neat, and well-stocked with supplies.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of experience in retail preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Product knowledge of firearms and ammunition is essential.
- Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations is required.
- Strong customer service and sales skills for firearms and ammunition.
