About the position

The Float Part Time Pharmacy Technician at Genoa Healthcare plays a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy's operations, primarily focused on dispensing medical prescriptions and performing clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This position is integral to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with health regulations while working collaboratively within a coordinated care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff
• Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Perform various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Virginia
• Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license
• Ability to work between the Winchester and Front Royal sites
• Ability to use own car to get to each location

Nice-to-haves

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Pharmacy and prescription data entry experience
• Basic competency with Excel and Teams
