The coordinator greets patients and visitors, answers and routes calls, and maintains all patient communication needs, including scheduling and appointment reminders. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for obtaining and verifying patient insurance information, collecting and entering patient charges, and maintaining patient charts. The position also involves coordinating ancillary testing with other hospital departments and arranging patient transportation as needed.
