About the position

The Front of the House Receptionist at La Boutique Salon is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a beauty and wellness spa environment. This position serves as the first point of contact for clients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and managing client interactions effectively. The role requires adaptability, professionalism, and a passion for the beauty industry, with responsibilities ranging from client care to administrative tasks and salon support.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly and create an exceptional first impression.
  • Cater to client needs by offering beverages, hot towels, blankets, or heaters.
  • Assist clients in finding ideal appointment times and promote services based on client needs.
  • Manage bookings, rescheduling, and client inquiries via phone, email, and text.
  • Maintain accurate data entry in booking systems and relay client concerns to management.
  • Assist with social media shoots and other light marketing tasks as needed.
  • Open and close the salon, ensuring all areas are prepared and welcoming.
  • Perform light housekeeping, including mopping, vacuuming, and taking out the trash.
  • Assist with putting away laundry and keeping common areas tidy.
  • Run occasional errands and support practitioners with setup and operational flow.
  • Follow up with clients post-service to gather feedback and encourage pre-booking of appointments.

Requirements

  • Must be available on weekends and committed to 25-30 hours per week.
  • Previous front desk or customer service experience preferred; spa or beauty industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, Microsoft, Apple apps).
  • Physical ability to lift 25lbs and perform light cleaning tasks.
  • Self-starter with critical thinking skills and a 'yes, can-do' attitude.
  • Genuine curiosity about the beauty and spa industry.
