About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage all aspects of the accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant regulations. This part-time role is crucial for maintaining the financial health of our organization, requiring proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile funds for church operations, reserves, and mission offerings.
• Maintain a proper filing system of all church financial accounts; reconcile balance sheet and pass-through accounts.
• Produce and present financial statements and supporting reports to the Finance Committee monthly.
• Track offerings, payroll, invoices, and expense reimbursements in QuickBooks; perform annual worker's compensation audit.
• Coordinate and produce staff payroll checks and electronic deposits semimonthly using ADP; distribute W-2s annually.
• Provide ministries with annual budget worksheets including supporting financial reports.
• Support and work directly with the Finance Committee.

Requirements

• Proficiency in financial report writing to convey complex information clearly.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and ADP.
• Experience as an accounting clerk or similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation techniques.
• Competence in managing accounts payable processes effectively.
• Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation accurately.
• Strong grasp of financial concepts to support decision-making processes.
