About the position

The position involves providing exceptional customer service at Lowe's, primarily focusing on assisting customers at self-checkout registers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. The role requires proactive engagement with customers, monitoring their needs, and providing support throughout their shopping experience. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities related to cash handling, training associates, maintaining store safety and cleanliness, and managing in-stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
  • Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
  • Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures.
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
  • Respond promptly to customer and employee inquiries, guiding them through the store as needed.
  • Coach and train associates in departmental duties and sales opportunities.
  • Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register according to company guidelines.
  • Supervise and support the CSA Front End Team, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage online orders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
  • Less than 1 year of experience with common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
