About the position

As a Part Time Head Cashier at Lowe's, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring and assisting customers at self-checkout registers, providing exceptional customer service, and supervising the Front End Team. You will be expected to engage with customers proactively, helping them with their needs and ensuring that transactions are completed accurately and efficiently. This position requires you to be on your feet, moving throughout the checkout area, and interacting with multiple customers simultaneously. You will also be responsible for training and coaching associates, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards, and maintaining a secure work environment. Your role will involve using retail technology, handling cash transactions, and managing the register area effectively. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with people.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet, assist, and engage with customers on multiple registers.
• Provide SMART customer service through the execution of Lowe's policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Communicate information regarding stock, special orders, and warranty information to customers.
• Coach, develop, and provide feedback to associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register according to company guidelines.
• Supervise, coach, and support the CSA Front End Team.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages and ensure proper handling of customer orders.
• Monitor merchandise entering and leaving the store and assist customers who trigger alarms.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and working areas according to housekeeping standards.
• Conduct daily safety reviews and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
