About the position

The Part Time Head Cashier at Lowe's is responsible for overseeing the self-checkout area, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring smooth transaction processes. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them with their needs, and supervising the Front End Team. The Head Cashier also plays a key role in maintaining a clean and safe store environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously.
• Proactively greet and engage with customers to recommend products and services.
• Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, and loading merchandise.
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register according to company guidelines.
• Supervise, coach, and support the CSA Front End Team.
• Prepare the register area by confirming functionality and stocking supplies at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages and manage customer orders.
• Monitor cash in drawers and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and communicate security risks to management.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer for information management.
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field.
