About the position

The Part-Time HR and Employee Relations Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting HR operations for a major event transport project in Kansas City, scheduled through Q3/Q4 2026. This position requires an energetic and proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively to address employee needs and project initiatives. The role involves stakeholder engagement, community networking, employee relocation support, and various HR administrative tasks, all aimed at ensuring a smooth operation during the event.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings with potential business partners and stakeholders relevant to the event project.
  • Build and maintain connections with local Kansas City entities to support project initiatives.
  • Assist employees relocating to Kansas City by providing information on housing options and local amenities.
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative assistance, including documentation and onboarding support.
  • Assist with HR initiatives related to the event project, such as organizing events and coordinating training sessions.
  • Maintain open communication with the Project HR/Workforce Lead and other team members.
  • Support new employee orientation and management training in HR processes.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues and communicate policies and procedures.
  • Connect with outside suppliers to provide employee services as directed.
  • Ensure employees are enjoying their work and work environment.

Requirements

  • Currently reside within the Kansas City Metropolitan Area with knowledge of local community resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint).
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with employee relocation processes and Kansas City housing resources.
  • Previous experience in HR support roles for large-scale or major event projects.
  • Spanish language ability.
  • Experience with Airtable and/or other online collaboration tools.
