About the position

The Part-Time HR Generalist position is a vital role within our organization, focusing on various human resource functions to support our workforce effectively. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about human resources and are looking to contribute to a dynamic team in a hybrid work environment. The HR Generalist will be responsible for monitoring, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and employee assessments. This includes leading the recruitment process by interviewing and selecting qualified candidates, working closely with hiring teams to identify required skills and competencies, and conducting background checks to verify employee eligibility. In addition to recruitment, the HR Generalist will manage the onboarding process, which encompasses new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. The role also involves administering key human resource functions such as compensation, benefits, leave management, performance management, disciplinary actions, and training and development. The HR Generalist will address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues to appropriate personnel when necessary. Participation in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations will also be part of the responsibilities. The HR Generalist will coordinate the agency's equity and inclusion initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Regular reviews and updates of policies will be necessary to maintain compliance. Staying informed about trends and new technologies in human resources and talent management is crucial for this role. The HR Generalist will also perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department and the organization as a whole.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
