About the position

The Part Time Hub Supervisor position at UPS is a critical role that involves supervising Package Handlers and ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols while maintaining high productivity standards. This position is designed for individuals who possess strong leadership qualities and the ability to foster a positive work environment. The Hub Supervisor will be responsible for training and developing team members, holding them accountable for their performance in terms of safety, production, and attendance. The role requires a proactive approach to communication and cooperation among team members and other departments, ensuring that all employees are engaged and working towards common goals. In this role, the Hub Supervisor will set and maintain high standards for account productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, and safety. This includes managing department resources effectively to maximize output and efficiency. The supervisor will also implement personal development plans for employees, ensuring they receive the necessary orientation, skills training, and regular evaluations to support their growth within the company. The position emphasizes the importance of a team-oriented work environment, where employee involvement and continual improvement are prioritized. The Hub Supervisor will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety and compliance with all corporate and OSHA requirements. This role is essential in cultivating a functional working relationship with personnel at all levels of the organization, contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times, operating in full compliance with department, station, corporate, and OSHA requirements.
  • Manage department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency at all times.
  • Establish and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment emphasizing employee involvement, proactive communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement.
  • Implement employee personal development plans as required to ensure the continuing professional growth of department personnel.
  • Ensure all department employees receive specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, appropriate materials and information, regular evaluations, and proactive coaching to support their continued development.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred
