About the position

Chaparral Ranch is dedicated to providing top-notch equestrian experiences and a supportive work environment for our employees. We are seeking a part-time Human Resources Specialist to join our team and contribute to our continued success. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees, ensuring compliance with California employment laws, and providing support to our staff across multiple locations. This role is essential in maintaining a positive employee experience and supporting the HR team in various capacities. In this position, you will manage the onboarding and offboarding process for all employees, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and that new hires are welcomed into the organization effectively. You will maintain accurate records in our HR software and ensure compliance with California employment laws, which is crucial for the smooth operation of our HR functions. Additionally, you will visit various locations to check in with managers and staff, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience across the board. During peak hiring seasons, you will assist with recruitment and hiring efforts, helping to attract and retain top talent for our organization. Your support will also extend to the HR team, where you will assist with additional tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate records in our HR software and ensure compliance with CA employment laws.
  • Visit various locations to check in with managers and staff, ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience.
  • Assist with recruitment and hiring during peak seasons.
  • Support the HR team with additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Familiarity with HR software and tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of California compliance laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to commute between multiple locations as needed in the East Bay, Woodside and Marina.
  • Required to have a Driver's license and own mode of transportation.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
