About the position

Rutgers University is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for the Interactive & Web Design program for the Fall 2024 semester. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in web design principles, interactive media, and related technologies. This position requires a commitment to fostering an engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and creativity. The instructor will develop course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments, ensuring they align with the program's learning objectives. Additionally, the instructor will provide timely feedback to students and maintain open lines of communication to support their academic success. The instructor will also be expected to stay current with industry trends and advancements in web design and interactive media, integrating relevant content into the curriculum. Participation in departmental meetings and collaboration with faculty members to enhance the program's offerings is also a key aspect of this role. The position may involve teaching both in-person and online courses, requiring flexibility and adaptability in instructional methods to meet diverse student needs. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in web design, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and design software such as Adobe Creative Suite. Experience in teaching at the college level is preferred, along with a passion for mentoring students and helping them develop their skills in interactive design.
