About the position
The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for the Jumpstart Welding program, specifically to teach WELD 100B - Introduction to Welding classes at local high schools. The role involves instructing students according to established curriculum standards, demonstrating lab procedures, and evaluating student performance to ensure they meet course outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Teach WELD 100B - Introduction to Welding classes through the CSN Jumpstart Program at high schools.
- Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives.
- Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions.
- Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
- Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
Requirements
- Applicants must be pre-approved by the Department of Applied Technology and the Jumpstart Program before submitting an application.
- 5 years of work-related experience.
Nice-to-haves
- CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications
- NCCER Instructor Credentials
- OSHA 10, 30 certifications
- Welding Technology degree
- One-year equivalent full-time teaching experience
- Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
- Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems
