About the position

The Part-Time Instructor of Psychology at Pratt Institute is responsible for teaching courses in the Psychology minor and contributing to the general education core. The role involves delivering classes in various psychology topics, including General Psychology, in a seminar format with a maximum of 22 students. The position is part-time, with the opportunity to teach up to two sections per semester, starting in Spring or Fall 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Psychology, including General Psychology and writing-intensive seminars.
  • Contribute to the general education core curriculum.
  • Engage with students in relatively small seminar settings (maximum 22 students).
  • Prepare course materials and assessments.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant branch of psychology or advanced, current PhD student.
  • Research and teaching experience in Abnormal Psychology, Child and Adolescent Development, or Personality Psychology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching at the college level.
  • Familiarity with writing-intensive course components.
