About the position

The Head Women's Tennis Coach at Santa Barbara City College is responsible for providing quality instruction and leadership for the women's tennis team. This part-time position emphasizes teaching, learning, and compliance with athletic regulations while fostering an inclusive environment for student-athletes. The role includes planning practices, recruiting, ensuring academic progress, and managing all aspects of the intercollegiate tennis program.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction and maintain an environment that encourages teaching and learning.
• Plan and execute practice sessions for the women's tennis team.
• Recruit student-athletes and ensure their academic progress toward degrees.
• Schedule athletic contests and arrange transportation for the team.
• Prepare budgets and maintain athletic equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Enforce district, college, and student requirements related to athletics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree AND two years of experience in coaching or related field OR an associate degree AND six years of experience OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above.
• Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

• College coaching experience in women's tennis preferred.
