About the position

The Part-time Instructor for Web Development - JavaScript is responsible for teaching students in a competency-based program curriculum, focusing on the latest web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The instructor will create a positive learning environment, manage classroom dynamics, and maintain accurate records of student progress. This role requires flexibility to work evenings and a commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies.
  • Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress, and grades.
  • Ensure syllabus, supply list, and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and professionalism.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of industry experience using HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Three (3) or more years of industry experience using the latest iterations of JavaScript.
  • Experience with Python is a plus.
  • Understanding of usability and web accessibility best practices.
  • Ability to create web/mobile templates and components using modern design best practices.
  • A professional web-related certification is required.
  • Experience teaching adults is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in training and teaching others.

  • Experience with Python programming language.
  • Professional web-related certification.
