This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period.
Prepare course syllabi, course outlines (if necessary) and related instructional materials.
Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
Administer student evaluations.
Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested.
Participate in student retention activities as requested.
Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC.
Requirements
Associate's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in Welding, Welding Fabrication or professionally related area, or a combination of education and professional experience.
One year of work experience in welding, welding fabrication or related area.
Nice-to-haves
American Welding Society (AWS) professional level certifications: D1.1 GMAW, FCAW and GTAW plate and the GTAW 18 through 10 gauge or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Experience teaching in a community college setting.
