About the position

The Part-Time Interior Designer at Brightstar Group will focus on revitalizing common areas and tenant spaces within a diverse portfolio of properties in the Fulton Market district. This role is designed for a creative individual who is passionate about interior design and can effectively balance aesthetic appeal with practical considerations. The designer will enhance the visual and functional aspects of communal spaces, providing an opportunity to build a portfolio in a vibrant neighborhood.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute design concepts for common areas including lobbies, hallways, and amenities.
• Create detailed design plans, mood boards, and material selections tailored to the unique character of each property.
• Assist in space planning, furniture selection, and layout optimization to enhance functionality and flow.
• Prepare and present design proposals to the property management team.
• Source and procure furniture, finishes, lighting, and accessories in alignment with project budgets and timelines.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and oversee the implementation of design plans.
• Stay informed about industry trends and integrate innovative design solutions into our spaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in interior design, with a focus on common areas or multi-family properties preferred.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of space planning, color theory, and material applications.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to non-design professionals.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with design trends and resources in the Fulton Market area is advantageous.
