This position is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented, and creative designer who is looking for flexibility in their work schedule. The firm specializes in residential projects and has an established base of clientele throughout the tri-state area. The owner of Petra Design has over 20 years of experience in 5-star hospitality and residential design, providing a wealth of knowledge and mentorship for the right candidate. The Interior Designer will be responsible for managing various aspects of the design process, from concept to completion, ensuring that all client requirements and design standards are met. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed and accurate design drawings, as well as the ability to perform existing condition surveys. The designer will also be tasked with developing and delivering compelling client presentations that showcase design concepts, materials, and finishes. In addition to design responsibilities, the position involves sourcing and procuring furniture, fixtures, and other design elements, while maintaining knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and construction requirements. The designer will utilize project management software to track and manage project deliverables, including presentation files, specification packages, and construction documents. This part-time role is expected to require approximately 25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as the business grows. The work will primarily take place in the Scarsdale office, with occasional travel to project sites throughout Westchester and the tri-state area. This is not a remote position, and the hourly pay ranges from $30 to $50, commensurate with experience. Joining Petra Design means being part of a creative team that values innovation and design excellence, with opportunities for professional growth and a collaborative culture that encourages the sharing of ideas and contributions.
