About the position

The Part-time Intern in Digital Marketing and Social Media at Lone Star College-CyFair will support the Communications department by assisting the Digital Marketing/Social Media Coordinator. This role is designed for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in digital marketing, particularly in social media content creation and management. The intern will contribute to the department's goals through various tasks related to social media planning, outreach, and coordination, while working closely with experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing the social media calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
• Act as a communications liaison with the Falcon Force student content creator program, scheduling meetings, organizing files, and coordinating correspondence.
• Contribute to posting approved content onto various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) in a timely and engaging manner.
• Collaborate with the publications lead on gathering newsworthy content to keep up with campus news and ensure our social media presence is informative and relevant.
• Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be enrolled at LSC-CyFair with a minimum of six hours college credit or pursuing a certificate for the Fall and Spring semesters.
• Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must maintain good academic and disciplinary standing.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong understanding of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative and innovative thinking.
• Knowledge of social media analytics tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or Facebook Meta Business Suite.
• Basic graphic design skills, familiarity with tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
• Understanding of SEO and content marketing.
