About the position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join our academic team. This position is non-tenure track and is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and committed to fostering student success. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the university's mission of promoting access to postsecondary education for a diverse student body, particularly as UTRGV aims to become one of the largest and most successful Hispanic-serving emerging research institutions in the United States. As a part-time lecturer, the individual will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and potentially graduate-level courses in Mechanical Engineering. The role requires a strong commitment to student engagement and success, as well as the ability to utilize technology effectively to enhance the learning experience. The lecturer will be expected to develop course materials, deliver lectures, assess student performance, and provide feedback to students to support their academic growth. The appointment period for this position is one year, with a full-time equivalent (FTE) of 0.50, indicating a part-time commitment. The desired start date for this position is September 1, 2024, and the salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
