About the position
The Part-Time Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for auditing closed loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures. This role involves preparing reports for management, conducting surprise audits, and facilitating federal examinations. The specialist will work closely with management to identify risks and recommend improvements to internal controls and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Audit the quality of closed loan files for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit audit reports to the Supervisory Committee and Senior Management.
- Monitor and review periodic file maintenance reports.
- Conduct surprise branch visits to audit adherence to procedures and internal controls.
- Perform website compliance audits and delinquency audits as needed.
- Assemble reports for the Board regarding delinquency and auditing information.
- Facilitate federal exams and coordinate schedules with NCUA and management.
- Identify potential risks and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
- Audit designated samples of loan files after disbursal for accuracy.
- Review account and member system changes for adherence to regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years of related experience in auditing or loan servicing.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
