About the position

The Part-Time Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of our Glenpool self-storage facility. This is a flexible role that requires 5-10 hours per week, allowing the individual to set their own schedule as long as tasks are completed on time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct facility walk-throughs and security checks 2-3 times per week to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Clean and prepare vacated units for new renters, including basic sweeping, debris removal, and ensuring the unit is ready for occupancy.
• Perform general landscaping duties, including weed control, mowing, trash pickup, and light outdoor maintenance.
• Address any minor repairs and report larger issues to the property management company for further action.
• Ensure the facility's gates, fences, and lighting are functioning properly and report any issues immediately.
• Maintain the property's security by checking locks, gates, and the overall condition of the property.
• Assist in identifying potential facility improvements and help with their implementation.
• Communicate effectively with the property management company regarding any maintenance needs, updates, or emergencies.
• Coordinate with external vendors or contractors when necessary for larger maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in coordinating with off-site management.
• Comfortable performing light physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and handling equipment.
• Must have reliable transportation to the facility.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in light repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
