About the position

The Marketing and Development Coordinator at Pets in Need of Greater Cincinnati is a vital role focused on enhancing the organization's mission to provide affordable veterinary care to families in need. This position involves managing social media, fostering relationships with donors and the community, creating marketing materials, and driving fundraising efforts. The coordinator will work part-time, contributing to the organization's outreach and development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the clinic's online presence and engage with the community.
  • Create, curate, and schedule content across various social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for friend/donor communications, ensuring a positive and responsive experience.
  • Handle inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain friend/donor databases and ensure accurate records (electronic and paper).
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other public communications.
  • Represent Pets in Need at community events and public engagements.
  • Design and produce engaging marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, and promotional items.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials and communications.
  • Collaborate with the team and the board when applicable to develop and execute marketing campaigns, events and strategies.
  • Research and identify grant/foundation opportunities that align with the clinic's mission and needs.
  • Craft compelling narratives and proposals for applications and requests.
  • Maintain grant and foundation records and manage reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support the clinic's programs and initiatives.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, friends and volunteers.
  • Track friend and donor interactions and contributions.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Manage friend and donor databases, CRM files, folders, and systems.
  • Provide cost and budget projections, manage to the approved budget and provide routine responses for budget variances.
  • Provide and monitor to key performance indicators.
  • Provide applicable data and analytics reports and work summaries.
  • Provide direct support to the Executive Director to achieve desired marketing, communications and development activities.
  • Collaborate well with staff, related contractors and/or vendors to successfully execute work functions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in social media management, customer relations, public relations, and marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in graphic design software and digital marketing tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Constant Contact, Donor Perfect or other marketing and donor management platforms.
  • Experience with grants and donor relations.
  • Passion for pets, animal welfare and the mission of Pets in Need.
