About the position
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Math Coaches to inspire and guide students toward academic success in Upper-Level Math subjects. This part-time role involves tutoring students in subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Math courses, Statistics, and standardized test preparation (PSAT, SAT, ACT). The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and can motivate students from grades K-12, college, and ESL.
Responsibilities
- Utilize PEL-designed curricula and school-provided lesson plans.
- Apply proven teaching methods and materials approved by educational institutions.
- Motivate and support students from grades K-12, college, and ESL in their academic pursuits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or current college enrollment.
- Minimum of 1-year experience teaching Upper-Level Math subjects (Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, Statistics, SAT, ACT, PSAT).
- Passion for teaching math, with the ability to tutor additional subjects (English, Science, Chinese, Spanish) as needed.
- Available for at least two to three weekday evenings.
- Must reside within 10 miles of Alameda, CA.

- Knowledge of additional subjects such as Chinese and Spanish.
